Careers and Work Experience
Ocean Forest ensures the young adults of our College are exposed to the many options available to them as they contemplate their future and ‘Life after Ocean Forest’. Our program includes career advice and a Work Experience program for Year 10 students.
At Ocean Forest students have the opportunity to nominate for College and House Captains in both the Primary and Secondary schools. Once elected, the leaders are supported through various programs in the development of effective leadership skills.
Ocean Forest has a rapidly developing music program which includes individual instrumental music lessons across a range of musical instruments, a Year 6 Instrumental Band, a Concert Band and choirs. Ocean Forest participates annually in the Queens Cup band competition for schools and communities from the South West of WA. This competition provides an opportunity for bands and their members to compete against each other and to make new friends.
Encouraging involvement in sporting activities is a vital part of our College program.
During each year students have the opportunity to participate in Inter-house and Inter-school carnivals for swimming, cross country and athletics.
The Year 9 and Year 10 students also participate in a number of team sports at the annual District High Schools Country Week.
Annually, the College enters teams in the Bunbury Netball Association competition.
Aquatic opportunities exist as members of the College swimming squad..
