Fees and Charges

Ocean Forest Lutheran College aims to keep fees as low as possible while providing the highest quality education for all students.  The fees cover the costs of tuition, student insurance, subject costs, student ID cards, student diaries and compulsory academic competition fees.  These fees do not cover College camps, excursions, the cost of visiting cultural groups, consumable books, personal stationery or individual music lessons through private tutors.  Other certain expenses and restricted non-compulsory College activities (e.g. ski trip) are also charged out at cost on a user pays basis.


Fees are set annually by the College Board after consideration has been given to the anticipated Commonwealth and State Government Recurrent Grants to Independent Schools.


The annual fee is divided by four so that parents can have the convenience of making instalments at the start of each term.  Therefore, the fee to be paid for each term is not that term’s fee but is rather a 25% instalment payment towards the annual fee.

Concessions / Discounts


A 17.5% discount is offered for the second child, 20% for the third child and 25% for fourth and subsequent children.


A 3% discount on annual tuition fees is offered if the whole year’s fee is paid in the first two weeks of Term 1.



Payment of Fees and Charges


The College’s preferred method of payment is by regular fortnightly BPAY as it assists families to budget across the year rather than receive a larger quarterly account. 


The following payment methods are available:


BPAY         Fees and charges may be paid by BPAY from a cheque, savings or credit card account.  BPAY details are located on your monthly College Fee Account.


Cash          Payable at Reception.  Please do not send cash with students or through the mail.


Cheque      Cheques should be made payable to Ocean Forest Lutheran College and may be mailed or paid at Reception.


EFT            EFT is only available if a full quarterly or annual payment is made.  Bank details are available on request.


Fee accounts overdue will be charged an Administration Fee of $35 each time a reminder letter is sent out, unless prior arrangements are made to pay the fees by fortnightly or monthly instalments.


Enrolment Application Fee


An application fee of $55 per student must accompany all applications for enrolment.  This fee is non-refundable and covers administration costs associated with the enrolment process. 


Enrolment Holding Fee


Upon confirmation of a place at the College a holding fee of $510 per student will be required.  Of this amount $300 is refundable upon a term’s written notice of intent to leave the College, subject to all fees being paid in full and all hire books, library books and other equipment returned.  The remaining $210 will be credited toward the first term College fees and is non-refundable.


Withdrawal Notice Period


The College requires a full school term’s notice in writing prior to the withdrawal of a student from the College.  Such notice should be addressed to the Principal.  If a term’s notice is not received a full term’s fee will be charged in lieu of notice.

Book Hire Levy


To reduce the cost to parents purchasing text books, a book hire system is in place at Ocean Forest Lutheran College for Year 7 to Year 10 Students.  The annual book hire fee is $100 per year per student and is invoiced in Term 1 of each year.


Information Technology Levy


This levy supports the maintenance of our ICT infrastructure, wireless network, data projectors, electronic whiteboards, hardware and software, support of skilled personnel, and services and replacement schedule of student devices. 


The IT levy is $205 per annum for students in Pre-Primary to Year 6 and $275 per annum for students in Year 7 to 10.  This levy is invoiced in Term 1 of each year.


Instrument Hire (Year 6 only)


Instrument hire for the Year 6 band program is $65.00 per annum and is invoiced in Term 1 of each year.


Parents and Friends Levy


Upon enrolment parents automatically become members of the Parents and Friends Association.  Meetings are held twice a term and all parents are encouraged to attend and support the Association.  A fundraising levy of $20.00 per family per annum is invoiced in Term 1 of each year.


Building Fund Levy


The College has adopted a Building Fund levy to support current and future building programs.  This voluntary payment is tax deductible and is automatically added onto family accounts each year.  The levy is $115 per annum per family. Families may advise that they do not wish to contribute to this fund and an adjustment will be made to their account.  Families who wish to donate more to this program may do so and will be gratefully received.




In Term Swimming Lessons


In term swimming lessons are conducted for a two week period during the year.  The cost of the lessons is approximately $60.00 per student and will be invoiced upon receipt of the permission slip prior to the lessons commencing. 


Camps and Excursions


Participation in school camps and excursions are a compulsory part of the College programme. Every effort is made to keep camp and excursion costs as low as possible.  The cost of the camp or excursion will be invoiced at the time of the activity.


Outside School Hours Care


Ocean Forest Lutheran College offer before and after school care for Kindergarten and Primary aged children.  This service operates from the Early Childhood Centre and children participate in a variety of structured and unstructured activities and are provided with a healthy breakfast and/or afternoon tea.  Registration and enrolment is completed online via .  The before school care fee is $19 and after school care fee is $27 which is paid from your nominated bank account. A late fee of $3 may also apply. Families may be entitled to the Child Care Benefit discount on the fees and receive up to 50% Tax rebate.
